Welcome to my first blog:
My name is Johanna, I am from Austria and I am completing a one month traineeship abroad as an industrial clerk in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I started my traineeship on the 4th of March at Watson & Co. Chartered Marketing. Today marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for me as I stepped into the Central Library in Belfast for the first time. With a mix of nerves and anticipation, I entered the grand building that would be my workplace for the next three weeks. As I walked through the doors, I was warmly greeted by Christine, who welcomed me with a friendly smile and a steaming cup of coffee. Her hospitality instantly put me at ease and set the tone for what would be an unforgettable experience. After that, Christine took the time to explain the tasks we would be doing during our three-week internship. I am conpleting the traineeship with a friend called Anna-Lena. We know each other from Austria and are really looking forward to experiencing things together.

LEARNING GOALS:
I have a number of different learning goals for my time here. To improve my English proficiency through daily interactions and learning more about marketing strategies. On the first week in Belfast, before we started with our host company, we completed an English Workshop. We learnt a lot of English. Secondly, I will have the chance to participate in a photo and video course hosted by Apple. I am really excited about the courses and hope to be a better photographer and videographer as a result. Apple Course: Furthermore, I love to do social media posts but I would like to learn more about socia meda channel Instagram and what it can offer businesses. I hope to learn how to do my first Reel – my Trainer, Christine spoke of a ‘Use Template’ cheat for Instagram Reels that I am excited to try. Following my induction I am now interested in upskilling in the Canva platform, because the programme can offer so much in visual design. Finally I think the landscape of Northern Ireland and the culture is very interesting and beautiful and I am excited to experience more of the culture and learn also about the UK work culture. The working hours are very different to Austria and also remote working is not so prevalent.

ABOUT ME:
My name is Johanna and I came from Göstling an der Ybbs in Austria. Currently, I´m 18 years old and I am doing an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at Bene GmbH. When I’m not at work, I play the flute in the local music orchestra. I also enjoy simply hanging out with friends or family, I cherish every moment spent with those I hold dear.
