Online learning signposting platform TrainingMatchmaker.com has been appointed by Libraries NI to deliver ‘Get Blogging’ courses for teenage library users within the Children’s and Young People department this Spring.
The online learning programme is being created to provide 14 to 16 year olds right across Northern Ireland with the opportunity to gain knowledge on how they can become a blogger and develop their writing and digital skills. As well as building their competence and confidence the online workshops, delivered by Chartered Marketer Christine Watson, with guest – Content Trainer Tina Calder, also aim to help the aspiring bloggers develop a peer to peer support network of young people their own age with similar blogging goals.
Participants will be taught how to establish, run and manage a successful blog or micro blogs and will be presented with inspirational examples from local bloggers and those further afield.
Two sessions will run in tandem – starting either March 24 or March 25 and these will be delivered live in the evenings via zoom to up to 40 young people from right across Northern Ireland.
Bloggers come from all walks of life and it is hoped that these free online learning opportunities will spur on the next generation of bloggers in Northern Ireland.
TrainingMatchmaker.com has been created with a mission to inspire learning – as well as signposting free online training resources and workshops it provides a community for local Trainers to learn, network and grow.
TrainingMatchmaker.com has previously delivered ‘Get Blogging’ – free evening courses at Lisburn, Holywood and Lisburn Road, Belfast libraries as well as a series of ‘Blogging Inspiration Sessions’ at libraries across all six counties.
