Once youâ€™re able to navigate your way with a computer, to use email and enjoy the Internet, the free GoÂ OnÂ courses in your local library can take you one step further.
Go ON is an exciting support/training programme for people who want to find out more about technology and computers in a relaxed environment and at their own pace. These computer courses are held in local libraries with experienced staff on hand to help. Go ON allows people to enhance their computer skills by offering help to do lots of everyday tasks on the computer. Go ON sessions are free but you must be a library member to participate. Library membership is free for everyone. To join all you need to do is bring a form of identification with proof of address.
The course is divided intoÂ sessions and includes the following modules:
DAERA and Aphis online services – Calling all farmers!Â DAERA and Aphis online services.Â Come along for an introduction on how to use Aphis (feel free to bring a family member or friend with you)
Editing Digital Photographs â€“ Suitable for the absolute beginner.Â Pick up some tips on editing your digital photographs.Â Learn how to get them from your camera to your computer, how to save them, make adjustments and print.
eMagazines and eBooks –Â Come along and find out how to access eBooks and eMagazines
Internet Scams (and how to avoid them) â€“ Tips on how to stay safe online.
An introduction to Kindle Fire – If you have a Kindle Fire and want to learn how to use it, then this is for you!
An introduction to Galaxy Tablet – If you have a Galaxy Tablet and want to learn how to use it, then this is for you!
iPad Camera – An introduction to the iPad Camera.Â Learn how to take and edit photos using an iPad.
iPad iMovie App – Come along and create a short digital film using photos from a selection we will make available.Â Learn how to add special effects, music, sound effects and text.Â iPads will be available for use on the day.
iPad Introduction â€“ a basic introduction to the iPad.Â If you have an iPad or are thinking of getting one and want to learn how to use it, then this is for you!
Moneysaving – Moneysaving madness!Â Sample websites that can help you budget, get cashback, compare prices, and cut the cost of grocery shopping.

To join one or more of the free classes on offer all you need to do is bring a form of identification with proof of address and contact the library directly to book your place.
