Social media Trainer Ruth Young helps businesses and entrepreneurs get the very best from social media. Delivering training to company owners, directors and staff Ruth’s workshops cover creating and publishing creative content and content planning.

Before Ruth went self employed in 2019, she worked mainly in the not-for-profit sector. She has held a variety of youth work, family support and training roles, for well known organisations including Young Enterprise NI and NOW Group.

Each job role required Ruth to effectively utilise social media – to build an organisation’s profile, to engage with supporters and customers, to encourage donations and volunteer support and to boost sales and find new business development opportunities.

Whilst successful at building active and engaged digital communities for her employers Ruth continually challenged herself – engaging in new learning and in keeping up with changing trends, by teaching herself which platforms were best for each organisation’s needs, Ruth was able to discover all the tricks of the trade for boosting engagement and visibility, and optimising profiles by tweaking settings and polishing online presences.

Creating content, providing professional training, and developing confidence in other people – these were the things that fires Ruth up in her work, and the things she felt she was at her best at doing. When she decided to take the leap into self-employment, choosing what to do was the easiest part!

As a trainer and mentor Ruth has worked with a range of industries and businesses including Crossen Engineering, ‘Epitome Living’ Smart Home Solutions, ‘Impossible Mental Health’ CBT Therapy, Social Enterprise ‘Madlug’, the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust, and Symphonia Gin.

Her services include working one to one alongside you or with your team, and at your pace, to show you how to do a range of tasks to make social media more understandable and achievable.
